This project has been a leap of faith. When I started, I had no idea how it would be received, but I am glad to say that the reception has far exceeded my expectation. Your support and positive feedback is very encouraging. For this, I thank you.
For those of you who have not read all my posts, I encourage you to take today to catch up. My posts do not follow a consistent pattern. I write as I can and sometimes jump around in time. The stories form an outline of the themes that I hope to flesh out either in future posts or in a book. Thus, the best way to catch up on my blog is to read it by the categories list on the right sidebar.
You will notice that, except for my clients, I use only first names. What you would not know is that most of these names are not the real names of the individuals described. Most of what I share about my death penalty work is contained in court papers in NC, Virginia and DC. Nevertheless, I am sympathetic to the fact that these individuals never chose to be swept up in a murder case, so I choose to be discrete. Some of the individuals in these stories, however, have graciously given me permission to use their real names.
As for my clients, I only write in detail about those clients who gave me permission to share their stories far and wide. They all wanted to be understood and they all wanted to expose the injustices in the criminal justice system. With other clients, I just stick to the record and my own experiences.
If you are not following me through facebook or twitter (at https://twitter.com/cadcocknc), please click on the Follow button on the blog itself so that I can gauge interest. In addition, please pass the word to others who might be interested in the themes of my blog. Thank you so much for your support.
